His involvement in scouting is significant, having served as Scoutmaster for Richmond’s Troop 770 since 2015, after beginning as an Assistant Scoutmaster in 2012. Among his most cherished experiences are running the Medoc Trail Marathon with his wife a total of four times as well as thru-hiking Shenandoah National Park with her in 2024, summiting New England’s highest peaks with his sons, and completing Virginia’s Triple Crown hike. David also plays guitar in the Richmond-based R.E.M. cover band, Dead Letter Officers, and drives school buses for Henrico County Public Schools. Since 2014, he has been the announcer for the Douglas S. Freeman High School JV and Varsity Lacrosse Teams.
